TOM SMITH TRIO PLAYS STEVE SWALLOW'S DAMAGED IN TRANSIT'

Vortex Jazz Club, N16 8AZ , [Venue Details]

LINE-UP:
Tom Smith – Saxophone

Joe Lee – Electric Bass

Jay Davis – Drums

Tom joins forces with a heavyweight rhythm section Joe Lee (electric bass) and Luke Tomlinson (drums) to perform Steve Swallow’s hard swinging suite of trio music from his 2003 live album ‘Damaged in Transit’ for a unique one-off concert.

Tom Smith is an award winning saxophonist, bass clarinettist and composer from London. He was twice finalist of the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year programme in 2014 and 2016, and he has already released to albums to critical acclaim – his debut album ‘Gecko’ in 2020 (produced by Tim Garland) and his second album with Czech pianist Daniel Bulatkin ‘Drifter Days’.
