The Daphne Trio was formed by award-winning students and alumni of the Royal College of Music in London. The trio have performed to great acclaim across the UK and have been recognised for their thoughtful, intriguing and carefully curated programmes.

This programme brings together a rarely performed work and one of the staples of the chamber music repertoire. Born in Ireland, Joan Trimble studied piano and composition at the Royal College of Music, where she later returned to teach piano for nearly two decades. She studied with Herbert Howells and Ralph Vaughan Williams and her Phantasy Trio, composed in 1940, won the Cobbett Prize for chamber music.
